In North Phoenix, adjacent to the new Fry’s Food megastore, sits the newest addition to Mexican cuisine in the area. They are focusing on fresh ingredients and letting you spend more time with family and friends.   This restaurant follows a very common style of ordering and then sitting down to enjoy your food as well as your experience. There is a large outdoor patio area with games and entertainment. There are several bases you can choose for your experience, but the prices are all focused on the protein you decide on.

There are seven different items to decide on for your base of the meal and then nine proteins to top on whichever base you pick. But the fun continues from there, because the items to help build your meal after that are numerous. There are a variety of vegetables and sauces that truly make it a unique experience for every person to customize their own meal. I recommend looking at the menu online to get an idea of some of the items you are interested in prior to getting into the order line. The line moves quickly and even though the employees are super patient and friendly, guests can get a bit exacerbated if you take too much time thinking, during the building section of the ordering.

The first item we ordered was the Street Tacos with Chile Lime Shrimp ($8.49). You have your choice of corn, flour, or jicama sliced rounds for the taco shells. For this order we went with corn soft street taco tortillas. We decided to top each one with Cotija cheese and Fresh Pico de Gallo. The shrimp had nice flavor that the Pico only accentuated and then was rounded out by the cheese. They are easy to hold with one hand, but keep that in mind when choosing toppings.

The next item was also Street Tacos, but with Beef Barbacoa ($8.99). This time we went with flour tortillas for the street taco shell. We then topped it with shredded Cheddar Jack cheese and Mango Salsa. The beef Barbacoa had a sweet flavor and that was accentuated by the mango salsa. The thing we did not know until after ordering is that you can mix and match the tacos shells as well as protein toppings. If I understood correctly you would pay the price for the most expensive of the proteins, but you can mix and match and all toppings are no additional charge.

We then ordered Nachos with Pork Carnitas with Roasted White Poblano Queso ($8.49) you can also add Guacamole for an additional $1.99. The nachos are a great value as you are able to build it up with many more toppings than say the tacos. We added roasted corn, Brown rice with cilantro, Pinto beans, diced tomatoes, and Sour Cream. Since it is all on top of corn tortilla chips, it is easy to eat to scoop up all the toppings and make it a more unique meal. The white Poblano Queso is a nice creamy layer with just a touch of heat to it. It you like your food with more spice I would recommend adding the Smokey Chile de Arbol to kick up the heat index.

The next item was the Nachos with Chicken Adobado ($7.49). We included the Guacamole for the additional $1.99 again. This one was topped again with the creamy Queso, but then additionally we added their Quinoa Rice, diced tomatoes, roasted corn, and black beans. The subtle ingredient differences can make the world of difference in overall flavor profiles. That is one of the real benefits of this restaurant is that with so many toppings you can create a number of different combinations every visit.

The final item was a Carne Asada Burrito ($8.99). It starts with a warmed up 12 inch flour tortilla that is then filled with your protein choice and whatever toppings you choose. We filled the burrito with the diced Carne Asada, Quinoa Rice, Black Beans, shredded Cheddar Jack cheese, Cotija Cheese, and Sour Cream. All the flavors mixed perfectly together and it was wrapped in tin foil, which helped to serve two purposes. It kept it all together as well keeping it warm through out the eating process.

They also have Quesadillas and salad greens for a base to build your unique meal. If you are looking to keep to a more vegetarian eating experience on of the protein options are Fajita Style vegetables ($6.99) that you can add some of their fantastic vegetable toppings to round out the experience. They have daily specials so be sure to go online and look at some of the great daily offerings. One of them is a Friday Fish Fry which includes French Fries and Jicama Slaw for only $9.99.

They have several drink items as well as an indoor/outdoor bar area. So you can chose to sit outside or inside at a variety of different table types and enjoy the creation of your choice. So pull up a piled high meal and get a Drink, maybe with a slice of Limón.
