Burritoholics

While strolling through the art filled streets of Cave Creek, Arizona we stumbled on to a new restaurant that has recently filled the former bakery for the recently departed Binkley’s restaurant. Filling the need for large burritos, this restaurant is thriving with great options and flavors. The menu offers all that you would need to get a truly delicious meal. From the same eatery family as PHX Burrito House, El Sol, and Zocalo comes this current foray into Cave Creek dining options. They offer six different breakfast burritos, eight specialty burritos as well as some other menu options. There is no shortage of Add On available to adjust and create an even more delightful food opportunity.

We started with one of the Breakfast Burritos off of The Cure section of the menu. We choose the Eggs N Bacy burrito ($6.79). This starts out with a 12-inch tortilla being warmed up and filled with scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon. The bacon is cooked perfectly and adds the punch of salty flavor that the scrambled eggs need. But the addition of Seasoned Fries inside the burrito, act as diced potatoes or hash browns might in other breakfast burritos. It is served with a small cup of salsa for added flavor if needed, which in my opinion it did not. It was full of flavor and very difficult to put down to try another burrito.

The next was the La Vaca Loca burrito ($8.59) from their The Fix specialty burritos menu. This comes with perfectly grilled tender steak, pico de gallo, rice, and your choice of Black Beans, Refried Beans, or Pinto Beans. We choose to order the refried beans on this occasion. It also has your choice of either red or green sauce to be added inside with all the other ingredients. We choose the green sauce and if you like it hot, I recommend you do too. The flavors inside the burrito were amazing, and the steak was seasoned perfectly. It is a very filling burrito but the flavors that are all intertwined together and each bite carries you into the next until you look down and see that you have devoured the entire burrito.

The next burrito that we sampled was the El Chingón ($7.39). This is another of their 12-inch warmed burritos, but this one has seasoned ground beef inside with your choice of beans, then rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. This is a hearty burrito to eat. It is filled perfectly though as to not lose any of the ingredients that are inside. The ground beef has a great flavor and when you add on sour cream (.50) it rounds out the entire dish.

They also have Veggie Burritos ($6.89) that are filled with zucchini and bell peppers. The chips and salsa ($2.99) is a nice extra to add a little crunch to your meal.  The thing you notice the most while eating there is the spirit of the crew and the freshness of the ingredients. Do not expect to walk in and get a burrito in a conveyor belt format. Each burrito is made special and with extra special care. The staff is super friendly and eager to answer any questions about ingredients or preferences.

So venture up Cave Creek road and take in a monster burrito from a truly unique restaurant. There is plenty of seating in front or back, or take it to go in wrapped aluminum foil for a quick picnic meal.
